“As the global population living in urban areas is set to rise from around 56% in 2021 to 68% in 2050, sustainable transformation of our cities is a top priority.” https://impact.economist.com/urban-futures/about
In November of 2025, Pinellas Diaspora Arts Project held its first Tampa Bay Urban Futures Festival throughout the Bay Area. TBUFF brought together dozens of local partners, using art, media, technology, and education to discuss the future of our urban communities through innovation, conversation, and artistic exploration. Combining live performances, educational panels, and conversations on our urban environment, urban prepping, AI education for youth, and alternative health practices, the festival also featured the annual Community and our first Urban Futures Comicon.
